A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE RE-CONSTRUCTION AND CONVERSION OF THE UARCO BUILDING TO A NEW POLICE, COURT, AND JAIL FACILITY; AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SAID CONSTRUCTION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of May, 2002, in Resolution No. 2002-075 authorize the preparation of plans and specifications for a project of re-construction and conversion of the UARCO building to a new police, court, and jail facility ; and, WHEREAS, such plans and specifications have been prepared by Brinkley-Sargent Architect, with the title being given thereto of the "Conversion of the UARCO Building to a New Police, Court, and Jail Facility" project, which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the City Engineer of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that such plans and specifications be approved and such projects should be authorized for advertisement for bids; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the plans and specifications for the "Conversion of the UARCO Building to a New Police, Court, and Jail Facility" Project be, and the same are hereby, approved. Section 3. That such construction project be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Ha11, 135 lst Street S.E., Paris, Texas 75460, at such date and time as the City Manager may direct, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Ha11, 135 lst Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will thereafter be tabulated and presented to the City Council for the purpose of letting such bid.
