MINUTES <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2013 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Jerry Haning, Vice - Chairman, at <br />12:02 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: Jerry Haning, Bryan Glass, David Hamilton <br />and Nathan J. Bell V <br />B. The following members were absent: Marilyn Smith, Rick Hundley and Charles <br />Richards <br />C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and <br />Development; Sue Lancaster, Council Liaison; and Ashley Fendley, City Staff. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (August 27, 2013) <br />Motion was made by Bryan Glass, seconded by David Hamilton to approve minutes for the <br />August 27, 2013 meeting. Motion carried 4 -0. <br />3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of FASTSIGNS <br />representing the Paris Town Center to grant a variance of Section 28 -8(h) of the Sign <br />Ordinance which provides that "total sign face area of all permanent signs combined on <br />one property, including ground signs, pole signs, attached signs, etc. shall not exceed one <br />(1) square foot per front foot of property line, or maximum of the three hundred (300) <br />square feet, at any time. " The lot width is 1836.99 feet. The maximum allowable <br />signage is therefore 300 square feet. Variances have been previously approved allowing <br />a current signage of 600 square feet. The applicant is asking for an additional 86 square <br />feet of signage. <br />Public hearing was declared open. <br />A. No one spoke in favor of the petition. <br />B. No one spoke in opposition. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Nathan J. Bell V, seconded by Bryan Glass to approve the variance <br />
