<br />Historic Preservation Minutes <br /> <br />January 26, 2004 <br /> <br />Item 1 <br />The meeting was called to order by Barbara Wilson, Acting Chairman. <br />Item 2 <br />The roll of members was called by the secretary, Ann Rogers. <br />The following members were present. <br />1. Jerry Raper <br />2. Claudia Hunt <br />3. Brian Wear <br />4. Barbara Wilson <br />5. Paul Denny <br />6. Sue Lancaster <br />7. Ann Rogers <br />8. Becki Norment <br />Item 3 <br />The minutes were read by the secretary and after a reading of the minutes they were <br />accepted unanimously by a voice vote. <br /> <br />The first item of business was a motion by Sue Lancaster to move Agenda item 7 <br />( Discussion of and possible action on approval of Certificate of Appropriateness) <br />to agenda item 3. The motion was seconded by Paul Denny. It passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Item 7 <br />The first request of Lynn and Ron Dickson of 366 Bonham St. #11 was approved after <br />the Commission viewed the documents presented by the petitioners. The motion was <br />made by Jerry Raper and seconded by Sue Lancaster. The petition was approved by a <br />unanimous vote. <br />The second request for a Certificate of Appropriateness was presented by Jim Bell for <br />Margie Bell. Mr. Bell presented the documents necessary for the certificate to be issued <br />for repairs to be made on the roof and for approval of the design of the chain link <br />fence to be installed at 624 Church Street. After discussion, a motion was made by <br />Becki Norment and seconded by Sue Lancaster to issue a Certificate to Mrs. Bell. The <br />motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The third petitioner was Cynthia Rainey with request for approval of paint colors, the <br />change of a sign from one street to another and to redesign a new awning. The motion <br />to approve the three requests with an exception requiring the contractor to make a <br />shop drawing showing the awning attachment submitted to Tommy Haynes before <br />permanently attaching to building. After considerable discussion, a motion was made <br />by Paul Denny and seconded by Sue Lancaster. The motion passed (with the exception <br />included )unanimously. <br /> <br />The fourth petitioner was the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce. with a request to <br />erect a sign identifying the offices in the Depot and add a historical marker adjacent to <br />
