Code Enforcement recommends demolition or repair of the following structures: A. 218 W Washington Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. Commissioner Alsobrook explained that she had visited the site and spoken with neighbors about the demolition of the structure, and that the neighbors were in favor of its demolition. Motion was made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner Alsobrook to recommend demolition of the structure to the Building and Standards Commission. The motion carried 4 -0. 5. Discussion Items A. Murals B. Composite and synthetic building materials C. Mortar types D. Product approval process Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. The commission first discussed mural including the distinction between long -term murals and short -term murals. The commission then discussed the approval of synthetic materials, mortar types and other products. Chair Cox suggested that a subcommittee of commissioners be appointed to study these items and return a recommendation to the commission. No action was taken. 6. Discussion and possible action on a new Commission meeting schedule Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. After discussion of meeting times a motion was made by Commissioner Holbert and seconded by Commissioner Alsobrook to hold a regular meeting on the fourth Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. and special meetings on an as- needed basis. The motion carried 5 -0. 7. Future Agenda Items Vice Chair Glatfelter requested a future item to discuss the removal of historic materials from dilapidated buildings. No action was taken. 8. Adjournment With no other matters to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner Allcorn. The motion carried 5 -0.
