MINUTES
TRAFFIC COMMISSION
City of Paris
The Traffic Commission met in regular session, Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at
5:15 P.M. in the municipal court room with the following members present:
1. Ed Ellis 4. Mary Lane
2. George Fisher 5. Ed Seidle
3. George Kimbrough 6. Jon McFadden
The city staff was represented by Assistant Police Chief James Barnett.
There being no Chairman present the meeting was conducted by Assistant
Chief Barnett with consent of members present.
The Minutes of the April, 6, 2004, meeting were approved as submitted.
A request for a 4-Way Stop Sign at the intersection of East Tudor Street and
th
NE 14 Street was considered.
Assistant Chief Barnett said this request came from Jennie Jones of 648 NE.
th
14 Street, Phone 785-5372. Ms. Jones complained of the speed of traffic in
the area and the presence of small children as being the need for the
additional Stop Signs.
Police Department records showed that no accidents had been reported at
the intersection during the past twenty-four (24) months. A traffic count
was done and the flow of traffic warrant for 4-Way Stop Signs was not met.
After being advised that an agenda of this meeting had been mailed to Ms.
Jones and the fact being noted that no one showed up to support the request,
Jon Fisher made a motion to deny the request. George Fisher seconded and
the motion carried 6 ayes to 0 nays.
