DRAFT <br />F:ALICE�RFSWORK\CURRENT\ Personnel Search Firm Agreement Res <br />May 21, 2004 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A PERSONAL AND <br />PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH A PERSONNEL <br />CONSULTING FIRIVI TO CONDUCT A PERSONNEL SEARCH FOR CITY <br />MANAGER CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER OF <br />THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has requested City staff to present possible professional <br />personnel search firms to utilize in assisting the City of Paris to identify qualified candidates and <br />applicants for the position of City Manager of the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, as the result of City staff identifying qualified firms for such search, the City <br />Council has narrowed the number of firm for such purpose to those firms located within the state <br />of Texas which are within a reasonable distance of the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to said initial review process, the City Council has authorized <br />staff to invite the identified search firms to make formal presentations to the City Council with <br />regard to their firm policies, procedures, and fees for performing such personnel searches; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, at a special called meeting held on May 24, 2004, allowed <br />the identified firms to make presentations before the City Council regarding their firm's expertise, <br />experience, and other qualifications and fees associated with said search; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into a personal and professional services <br />contract with a personnel search firm to provide special services to the City of Paris in identifying <br />qualified candidates for the position of City Manager of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COLTNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, does hereby authorize <br />the Mayor to execute and the City Clerk to attest to a personal and professional services <br />agreement, as said agreement shall be negotiated by the Mayor and shall be in such form as shall <br />be acceptable to the City Attorney, by and between the City of Paris and <br />
