MINUTES OF THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />August 25, 2014 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met for a regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />August 25, 2014, at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan, Paris, Texas. <br />Present: Mayor: Matt Frierson <br />Council Members: Richard Grossnickle; Aaron Jenkins; Billie <br />Lancaster; Benny Plata; Edwin Pickle; and A.J. <br />Hashmi <br />City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Kent McIlyar, City <br />Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Gene Anderson, <br />Finance Director; Shawn Napier, City Engineer; <br />Bob Hundley, Police Chief; Larry Wright; Fire <br />Chief; Kent Klinkerman, EMS Director; Jerry <br />McDaniel, Public Works Director; Doug Harris, <br />Utilities Director; Priscilla McAnally, Library <br />Director; and Tom Hunt, Municipal Judge <br />Opening Agenda <br />Call meeting to order. <br />Mayor Frierson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. Invocation. <br />Pastor Brad Aldridge gave the invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Council Member Lancaster led the pledge. <br />4. Citizens' Forum. <br />James Price, 1230 Shiloh — he invited everyone to the Veterans Reunion scheduled for <br />September 6 at 5:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds. He also asked for a meeting that allowed citizens to <br />speak about the PEDC investigative report. <br />Chris Dux, 4705 Sunset View — he said he owns the building at 134 First Street SW and <br />wanted to speak about agenda item number 15. He said he understood that the item was about a <br />partnership between the City and property owners along First Street for the relocation of a high <br />voltage power line. He said he was quite sure his building was there prior to the power lines <br />being put in place. He said they could not work on their buildings because his understanding <br />
