Regular Meeting City Council <br />May 10, 2004 <br />Page 8 <br />Resolution No. 2004-088, resolving that the regular Thursday meeting of the <br />City Council scheduled for June 10, 2004, be, and the same is hereby, <br />rescheduled for Monday, June 14, 2004, at 6:00 P.M. and that a copy be placed <br />on the City Hall Bulletin Board giving notice of the rescheduling, was <br />presented. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman <br />Guest, for approval of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-089, resolving that Sherian Dixon, be, and she is hereby <br />appointed Assistant City Clerk to act in the stead of City Clerk Mattie <br />Cunningham when she is occupied with other duties, absent from the City or <br />incapable of acting as City Clerk, was presented. A motion was made by <br />Mayor Pro Tem McCarthy, seconded by Councilwoman Neeley, for approval <br />of the resolution. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Fendley announced the next item on the agenda was approving an <br />agreement with Wollack Testing Service for the use of promotional <br />examination for police and firefighter personnel pursuant to the Civil Service <br />Act. <br />Karl Louis, Police Chief, was present asking the City Council to table action <br />of that item because they wanted time for additional research of this matter <br />before they commit to it. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Weekly to table action of the resolution. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Neeley and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-090, approving and authorizing the expenditure of funds <br />for fiscal year 2003-2004 to pay the cost for training and equipping a Fire <br />Department HAZ-MAT Mitigation Team; and providing for an effective date. <br />Ronnie Grooms, Fire Chief, came forward advising the City Council that he <br />had been approached by various members of local industry, and he had checked <br />his records where he notified a contingency of the local industry of the fact that <br />
