A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING THE BID TO A LICENSED, REGISTERED FEDERAL FIREARMS DEALER FOR THE SALE OF FIREARMS AND OTHER WEAPONS CONFISCATED AS A RESULT OF THE RED RIVER V ALLEY DRUG TASK FORCE'S DRUG INTERDICTION ACTIVITY; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore request the City staff to advertise for bids for the competitive sale of firearms and other weapons confiscated as a result of the Red River Valley Drug Task Force's drug interdiction activity, authorizing the solicitation and acceptance of competitive bids from licensed, registered federal firearms dealers only, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock p.m., Tuesday, June 8,2004; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such firearms and other weapons was made by D&B Pawn, a licensed, registered federal firearms dealer, and it should be awarded the bid for such purchase; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the bid of D&B Pawn, a licensed, registered federal firearms dealer, for firearms and other weapons confiscated as a result of the Red River Valley Drug Task Force's drug interdiction activity in the amount of $7,438.00, is hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents. Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 14th day of June, 2004.
