4. Discussion Items <br />A. Treatment of historic structures scheduled for demolition. <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. Vice Chair Glatfelter <br />explained that some homes that are demolished might have historically significant <br />feature or items that should be salvaged and possibly reused in other historic <br />structures. Mr. Sleeper explained that the city could not salvage materials from <br />privately owned property and that if a person or company wanted to salvage the <br />materials that permission from the property owner would need to be obtained. No <br />action was taken. <br />B. Continued discussion on murals <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. Mr. Sleeper distributed <br />copies of a draft mural ordinance to the commission and introduced Mr. Efrussy. <br />Mr. Efrussy explained that the draft ordinance was written to address murals in the <br />Historic Downtown District. Chair Cox requested that commissioners review the <br />draft ordinance for discussion and possible action at a future meeting. No action <br />was taken. <br />5. Receive and discuss draft report from subcommittee for recommendations on materials and <br />products used in historic districts. <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and requested a report from Vice Chair Glatfelter. <br />Vice Chair Glatfelter explained that the subcommittee had met once to discuss <br />synthetic materials, protection of historic glass, and proper mortars for historic <br />masonry. He further explained that the subcommittee would meet again and return <br />a final report to the commission at a future meeting. No action was taken. <br />6. Discussion and possible action on a new Commission meeting schedule <br />Chair Cox introduced the item and called for discussion. After discussion of meeting times <br />a motion was made by Vice Chair Glatfelter and seconded by Commissioner Alsobrook to <br />hold a regular meeting on the second Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. and special <br />meetings on an as- needed basis. The motion carried 4 -0. <br />7. Future Agenda Items <br />Chair Cox requested future agenda items to discuss the final report from the subcommittee <br />for recommendations on materials and products used in historic districts, and to discuss <br />the draft of the mural ordinance. No action was taken. <br />8. Adjournment <br />With no other matters to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made by Vice Chair Glatfelter <br />2 <br />
