3. Deputy Chiefs with five (5) years or more of service - Sixty -eight dollars and <br />sixty -one cents ($68.61) per pay period. <br />(f) All Paris Fire Department civil service employees of the rank of Fire Marshal shall <br />receive seniority pay in addition to their base pay calculated on their years of service with <br />the Paris Fire Department at the Fire Marshall rank, as follows: <br />1. Fire Marshal with less than fifteen (15) years of service - Seventy -two dollars <br />and sixty five cents ($72.65) per pay period. <br />2. Fire Marshall with fifteen (15) or more years of service - Ninety -one dollars and <br />twenty -two cents ($91.22) per pay period. <br />(g) The seniority pay provided by this section shall be in addition to the regular base <br />pay received by the member or members of the fire department qualifying for same." <br />Section 4. That all provisions of the ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas in <br />conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, and all other provisions <br />of the ordinances of the City of Paris not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance <br />shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Section 5. That the repeal of any ordinance or part of ordinances affected by the <br />enactment of this ordinance shall not be construed as abandoning any action now pending <br />under or by virtue of such ordinance or as discontinuing, abating, modifying, or altering <br />any penalty accruing or to accrue, or as affecting any rights of the municipality under any <br />section or provisions of any ordinance at the time of passage of this ordinance. <br />Section 6. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Paris that this <br />ordinance and every provision hereof, shall be considered severable, and the invalidity or <br />partial invalidity of any section, clause, or provisions of this ordinance shall not affect the <br />validity of any other portion of this ordinance. <br />Section 7. This Ordinance does not demonstrate, nor is it any evidence of any intent <br />to form a contract, unilateral or otherwise, with any civil service employee. This ordinance <br />is enacted to comply with Chapter 143, Texas Local Government Code, specifically <br />§143.041 and for no other purpose. <br />Section 8. This ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and <br />publication as required by law. The seniority pay steps set out herein shall be effective with <br />the first pay period in January 2015. <br />
