Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />November 19, 2014 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:01 p.m. <br />Present: <br />Board members present were Fran Neeley, Rebecca Umphrey, Carol James, Mike Pendleton, and <br />director Priscilla McAnally. Absent were Ann Norment, Denise Kornegay, and Connie Dodd. <br />I. Approval of Minutes <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented. <br />II. New Business: <br />A. Staff Introductions <br />(Two changes from the agenda: Rebecca Taylor was on vacation; Leigh Igo had a <br />doctor's appointment.) <br />i. Joyce Ellis, Library Paraprofessional - Cataloging. Joyce has been with the <br />library for 16 years. She catalogs the audio /visual materials, is the Volunteer <br />Coordinator, shelves the large print materials, works the circulation desk, checks <br />materials in, and orders and tracks supplies. <br />ii. Dedy Brock, Clerk I. Dedy has been with the library as an employee since July, <br />2014, prior to that she had volunteered since January, 2014. She is a retired <br />elementary and middle school teacher and librarian. She shelves the young <br />adult collection along with the audio /visual materials. She works the circ desk <br />as well as checking in materials and assisting the director in weeding the <br />collection. <br />iii. <br />III. Old Business: <br />None <br />IV. Presentations: <br />A. No unusual expenditures for Octobers. <br />B. Statistical Report. Both circulation and visits are significantly higher than last year. <br />Circulation increased 7.18 %, and visits increased by 14.75 %. <br />V. Friends of the Library: <br />VI.
