City of Paris Safety Committee Meeting June 10, 2008 City Council Conference Room 1. Call meeting to order @ 3:00 pm. 2. Roll Call: ■ Present: Priscilla McAnally, Todd, Varner, Darrel Dickerson, Dale Maberry, Mike Wade, Amy Samis, Matt Birch Absent: Kelli Newman, Melba Harris 3. Reviewed previous meeting minutes ■ Addition: Signature line for Secretary to sign off on minutes. ■ Motion by Jason Barber to approve previous meeting's minutes with addition. 2nd by Darrel Dickerson Motion passed 4. Discussed and reviewed 1St Report of Injury and Workman's Comp Claims: October 1, 2007 thru May 31, 2008. ■ 21 — "Report Only" ■ 12 — "Claims to Workman's Comp" ➢ 05/06 77 Workman's Comp Claims ➢ 06/07 35 Workman's Comp Claims ➢ 07/08 12 Year to Date 5. Discussed Water Plant Incident as well as Safety Committee touring the Water Plant 6. a. The City of Paris Safety Committee is on a search for a logo and motto for the Safety Committee. City of Paris Employees will have the opportunity to develop a motto and a logo for the committee. There will be a city -wide contest in July. Flyer /form will go out in the July 3, 2008 paychecks. Committee will review the entries at the August 4, 2008 committee meeting. Winner in each category (motto and design) will get a $25 gift card. No anonymous entries will be accepted. 7.. a. Safety meetings to distribute safety policies will be mandatory for every employee to attend. Every employee will be given a copy of their department's safety policy and will sign off that they have received it. They will be given a handout on what will be reviewed with them in the meeting. Meetings with employees and their Supervisors will be scheduled by August 2008. b. Discussed committee members having an alternate to fill in for committee member if unavailable to attend meeting. Members will advise committee of their alternate on Julyl, 2008 meeting.
