Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, September 03, 2013 at 5:15 P.M. in <br />the Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Ken Kohls <br />2. <br />Kenneth Millsap (5:20pm) <br />3. <br />Barry Shiver <br />4. <br />Jimmy Hodges <br />5. <br />Joe McCarthy <br />The city staff was represented by Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. <br />Chairman Kohls called the meeting to order at 5:16pm. A quorum was <br />established with four members present. Mr. Millsap arrived at 5:20pm. <br />Mr. Kohls moved to item #2 the introduction of new Traffic Commission member. <br />Mr. Tuttle introduced Mr. Barry Shiver as having been re- appointed to the Traffic <br />Commission until June 30, 2016. <br />Mr. Kohls then moved to item #3 regarding the approval of minutes from the June <br />04, 2013 and July 02, 2013 meetings. Mr. McCarthy made a motion to approve <br />minutes from both meetings. Mr. Hodges second the motion and it passed 4 -0 <br />Mr. Kohls moved to item #4 regarding the discussion and possible action <br />regarding the installation of warnings signs in the curve near Old Jefferson Road <br />and New Jefferson Road. Mr. Tuttle informed members that Ms. Hamby had <br />received a complaint about the curve not having a sign warning of the curve and <br />motorists have almost driven off the road at night because of the darkness and <br />no signs warning of the curve ahead. After discussion Mr. Shiver made a motion <br />to place a sign warning of the curve for eastbound traffic on Old Jefferson prior to <br />entering the curve. Mr. Hodges second the motion and it passed 5 -0. <br />Mr. Kohls moved to item #5 regarding any old business. Mr. Shiver had a <br />question as to the status of the request to close the crossover in 5000 block SE <br />Loop 286. Mr. Tuttle advised members that he had recently discussed the issue <br />with TXDOT Area Engineer Richard Harper and they were still working on the <br />issue and trying to obtain funding. There was no other old business to discuss. <br />Mr. Kohis moved to item #6 regarding future agenda items. There were no future <br />agenda items. <br />
