MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />Tuesday, November 2, 1999 <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, November 2, 1999, with the following <br />members present: <br />1. Charles Thompson 4. Mary Lane <br />2. Ricky Mackey 5. George Robinson <br />3. Cleo Holmes 6. John Gooding <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police James Barnett. <br />The Minutes of the October 5, 1999 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />Chairman George Robinson called the meeting to order at 5:15 P.M. <br />The first item of business was to consider requests for Stop Signs at: <br />1. On Mockingbird at Pine Mill Road stopping Southbound traffic at Pine Mill Road. <br />2. On Meadowbrook at Pine Mill Road stopping Southbound traffic at Pine Mill Road. <br />3. On Cope Drive at Pine Mill Road stopping Southbound traffic at Pine Mill Road. <br />Cleo Holmes made a motion that these requests be considered all together. Mary Lane seconded <br />and the motion carried 6 ayes to 0 nays. Discussion was held that these were all T intersections <br />and the signs would just reafirm that stops were mandatory John Gooding made a motion to <br />recommend the signs be placed as requested. Ricky Mackey asked if these areas were in the city <br />now and after learning they were, seconded the motion and it passes 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />A request for a No Parking Zone on the South side of Old Clarksville Road across from the <br />ballfields, East of Loop 286, beginning at a utility pole East of the second curve and ending <br />approx. 800 feet to the East was considered. Discussion was held and after learning that these <br />signs were already in place by authority of the Police Chief and had been requested due to heavy <br />parking on both sides of the street, Charles Thompson made a motion to recommend the signs be <br />made permenant. John Gooding seconded and the motion carried 6 ayes to 0 nays. <br />There being no further bu 'ness the meeting adjourned at 6:27 P.M. <br />ames Barnett <br />
