MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />TUESDAY, MAY 5, 1987 <br />5:15 P.M. <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, May 5, <br />1987, with the following members present: <br />1. <br />Frank Sherman <br />5. <br />Richard Fuller <br />2. <br />Charles Thompson <br />6. <br />Judy Lutz <br />3. <br />Paul Wood <br />7. <br />Lynn Hitt <br />4. <br />Zephania Gibson <br />8. <br />Gerald Byas <br />The city staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police <br />James Barnett. <br />The meeting was called to order at 5:20 P.M. by Co- Chairman <br />Paul Wood. <br />The Minutes of the April 7, 1987 meeting were approved as sub- <br />mitted. <br />A request for a Four Way Stop Sign at South-Church Street and <br />Sherman Street was considered. <br />Douglas Wehrman of 414 Church Street had made the request to the <br />City Manager's Office with reports of accidents and near accidents <br />at the intersection being the reason. <br />After learning that no accidents were reported to the Police Dep- <br />artment during the past 12 months at this location, and a survey <br />conducted by the Traffic Control Office showed the traffic volume <br />does not meet the warrants for a Four Way Stop Sign Gerald Byas <br />made a motion to deny the request. Paul Wood seconded the motion <br />and it carried 7 Ayes to 0 Nays with Judy Lutz not present for the <br />vote.
