Page 2 - Minutes - Traffic Commission 02 -04 -86 <br />Gerald Byas made a motion that hospital guide signs be put up to both Hospitals <br />and David Jackson be allowed input on location of the ones to.St. Joseph's <br />Hospital. <br />Lynn Hitt seconded the motion and it carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Fourth - A request for a "No Parking Zone" in the 3300 block of N.E.Loop 286 was <br />considered. <br />After the opening of Robert Allen's Night Club, a study was made and it was found <br />that vehicles parked on the right of way in this area created a hazard. <br />Gerald Byas made a motion that a "No Parking Zone' be established from Right -Of -Way <br />to Right -Of -Way, 500 feet North and South of the South property line of 3320 <br />N.E. Loop 286. <br />Richard Fuller seconded and the motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Fifth - A request for Stop Signs on 14th and 16th N.W. at West Walker was considered. <br />Shirley Nunez had asked that signs be placed stopping North and South bound traffic <br />at.-Walker. After James Barnett reported that no accidents were reported at either <br />intersection on 1985, Chairman Thompson called for a motion. None was made, so the <br />request is denied. <br />Sixth - A request for a Loading Zone in the 400 block of 1st S.W. was considered next. <br />Charles Huff operates a produce stand at 421 S.W. 1st and asked for a Loading Zone <br />in front of his business to prevent people parking there for long periods of time. <br />James Barnett explained that was not the purpose of a Loading Zone. No one <br />appeared in favor of the request so Chairman Thompson tabled it until Mr. Huff <br />or his representative could be here. <br />Seventh - A request to remove a Loading Zone in the 300 block of lst. S.W. was <br />considered. <br />There is no longer a building thereso the Loading Zone is not needed according to <br />James Barnett's report to the Commission. <br />Gerald Byas made a motion to remove the Loading Zone. Frank Sherman seconded and <br />the motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. <br />Eighth - Discussion of changes in the traffic signals at 12th S.E. and Lamar <br />revealed that Northbound traffic on 12th S.E. , wanting to turn right on Lamar <br />will not have to stop, except for vehicles already in the intersection, once the <br />yellow right turn arrow is installed. <br />
