MINUTES <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 1988 <br />COUNCIL ROOM - CITY HALL <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Traffic Commission met in regular session Tuesday, November 1, <br />1988 with the following members present: <br />1. Charles Thompson <br />2. Judy Lutz <br />3. Tom Kolko <br />4. Richard Fuller <br />5. Wayne Fletcher <br />The city,staff was represented by Assistant Chief of Police James <br />Barnett. <br />The meeting came to order at 5:15 P.M.with Chairman Gerald Byas <br />presiding. <br />The minutes of the August 2, 1988 meeting were approved as submitted. <br />First, a request for Stop Signs at the following locations was con- <br />sidered: <br />1. Van Zant at 11th N.E. (stopping East and West traffic) <br />2. Price at Collegiate (stopping East and West traffic) <br />3. Cypress at Collegiate (stopping Eastbound traffic) <br />4. Kessler at Collegiate (stopping Eastbound traffic) <br />5. Ridgeview at Collegiate (stopping Eastbound traffic) <br />6. Briarwood at Collegiate (stopping Eastbound traffic) <br />7. Ballard at Collegiate (stopping Eastbound traffic) <br />8. Collegiate at N.E. Loop 286 (stopping Northbound traffic) <br />After discussion Wayne Fletcher made a motion to combine the requests <br />and to recommend the signs be placed as requested. Richard Fuller <br />seconded and the motion carried 5 ayes to 0 nays. <br />NeXt a letter from the State Department of Highways and Public Trans- <br />portation was read stating that after speed studies and traffic flow <br />studies they could not reduce the speed limit or install a traffic <br />signal at 42nd and Lamar Avenue. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 5:29 P.M. <br />ames Barnett <br />Assistant Chief of Police <br />
