Paris Economic Development Corporation Business Plan - 2012 -2014 W At Two Initiatives and Five Implementation Strategies A strategy is the overall approach an organization follows to achieve the desired results. The Roadmap presented a wide range of recommendations that were developed by engaging and listening to community leaders with the goal of aggressively and proactively creating our economic future. As Paris and Lamar County's lead economic development organization, the PEDC is charged to spearhead an implementation plan. The following five implementation strategies encompass and organize the Roadmap recommendations into a doable, measurable set of action steps that provide the day -to -day focus for PEDC's board, staff, civic leader volunteers and partner organizations. Strategy 1: Civic Engagement and Leadership for Economic Growth Paris EDCwill encourage and support the business and civic leadership of our community and region to actively engage in crating our economic future. Strategy 2: Global Recruiting, Attraction and Market Positioning Paris EDC will lead economic development efforts to recruit and attract new industry, jobs and capital investment as well as keep and expand existing companies in Paris and Lamar County. Strategy 3: Advanced Manufacturing Academy and "Talent Ready" The talent pipeline for Paris and the Red River Region is prepared to meet the needs, requirements and expectations of current and future business and 'industry. Strategy 4: Entrepreneurial Resources Paris EDC will continue support of the Red River Region Business Incubator (R3bi) and establish a regional venture development organization to create a dynamic environment (an eco- system) supporting small business and entrepreneurs. Strategy 5: Rural Innovation Initiative Paris EDC will lead the State of Texas as a rural region committed to building a culture of innovation.
