Paris Economic Development Corporation <br />Business Plan - 2012 -2014 <br />W At <br />Two Initiatives and Five Implementation Strategies <br />A strategy is the overall approach an organization follows to achieve the desired results. The Roadmap <br />presented a wide range of recommendations that were developed by engaging and listening to <br />community leaders with the goal of aggressively and proactively creating our economic future. As Paris <br />and Lamar County's lead economic development organization, the PEDC is charged to spearhead an <br />implementation plan. The following five implementation strategies encompass and organize the <br />Roadmap recommendations into a doable, measurable set of action steps that provide the day -to -day <br />focus for PEDC's board, staff, civic leader volunteers and partner organizations. <br />Strategy 1: Civic Engagement and Leadership for Economic Growth <br />Paris EDCwill encourage and support the business and civic leadership of our <br />community and region to actively engage in crating our economic future. <br />Strategy 2: Global Recruiting, Attraction and Market Positioning <br />Paris EDC will lead economic development efforts to recruit and attract new industry, <br />jobs and capital investment as well as keep and expand existing companies in Paris and <br />Lamar County. <br />Strategy 3: Advanced Manufacturing Academy and "Talent Ready" <br />The talent pipeline for Paris and the Red River Region is prepared to meet the needs, <br />requirements and expectations of current and future business and 'industry. <br />Strategy 4: Entrepreneurial Resources <br />Paris EDC will continue support of the Red River Region Business Incubator (R3bi) and <br />establish a regional venture development organization to create a dynamic environment <br />(an eco- system) supporting small business and entrepreneurs. <br />Strategy 5: Rural Innovation Initiative <br />Paris EDC will lead the State of Texas as a rural region committed to building a culture <br />of innovation. <br />I1 <br />L'—!: <br />P <br />R <br />I <br />S <br />Two Initiatives and Five Implementation Strategies <br />A strategy is the overall approach an organization follows to achieve the desired results.
