GOAL IV. INFRASTRUCTURE/TRA1NING <br />Infrastructure development and workforce training to support the other goals of <br />the PEDC. <br />OBJECTIVE <br />Provide necessary support systems to entice existing industry to expand in Paris <br />and new industries to locate in Paris and provide a trained and ready workforce <br />for industry. <br />ACTIONS <br />1. Support the improvement and preservation of transportation access into <br />Paris, ground, rail, and air. <br />2. Consider forming partnership with TxDOT to help fund completion of SW <br />Loop 286, with an overpass over the railroad tracks in front of Kimberly - <br />Clark. <br />3. Potentially start on Phase 2 of the Paris Industrial Park. <br />4. Consider a model building program to attract prospective industry, utilize a <br />private contractor /investor if possible. <br />5. Coordinate industry training needs with local school districts and Paris <br />Junior College. <br />6. Support the Texas Workforce Commission and the Local Workforce <br />Development Board in providing training and assistance to the Paris' area <br />workforce. <br />7. Promote the Skills Development Fund to Finance training of Paris area <br />technical workforce through Paris Junior College. <br />8. Support the Texas Air Quality Coalition to maintain Paris' attainment <br />status. <br />
