expense, a lot will actively recruit those students to come and make <br />application, but I don't see us there. <br />Mary Ann We are not there. <br />High And, what I am saying is those communities have recognized the <br />fact that if you are going to encourage and hire minorities, you have <br />go to get out there and find them, and you have got to encourage <br />them to make application. And, then if we are doing a job of <br />supplying them with study guides to get ready for the civil service <br />test, that is great. The problem that we run into is a lot of them can't <br />pass the exit test. So, we provide those exit study guides and we <br />provide someone to tutor them so they can pass the exit test and <br />become qualified. It appears to me that we could help our efforts by <br />increasing and stepping up our recruitment efforts. <br />Malone We do that. Did we decide awhile ago that we wanted to recruit at <br />colleges, I thought we said that the people that were getting a <br />college degree were not oriented toward the Fire Department. <br />Harris I am just saying, as is, that I very rarely found no interest in being a <br />fireman. <br />High We could drive in a city vehicle spend $6.00 for somebody a meal, <br />and what we do is for Jarvis, for example, we have the two Jenkins <br />kids down there going to school. Aaron, who is a good candidate <br />that we might pursue for a fireman or police. Same thing down in <br />Wyle College right now Edith Bills son is down there. Those are our <br />contacts to get those kids to get those kids to come here and that <br />is what we do to encourage them to come back, and it is not going <br />to cost the city a heck of a lot of money to drive. It is not going to <br />cost anything to go to Texas College when they go to that job fair in <br />the spring and recruit kids. When people start seeing us actively <br />participating and doing things like that, then it puts our name in the <br />forefront. <br />Burgin How does your web site.
