PAR[` 11;BL1U 1.IBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MF:F:TING <br />February 17, 1988 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met February 17, 1988 at <br />4 p.m. in the Library with Chairman Bill Hagood, Virginia Gibbs, Beth <br />Shelton, Robert Pierson, Rogene Patterson, Jackie Alsobrook, Jean Gibson, <br />and Frances Ellis. Also present were Library Director Gertiana Williams, <br />Pamela Sidnell and Dick Boots, Director of Community Facilities. <br />Minutes of the January 20th meeting were approved as mailed. <br />Dick Boots announced that Tiana Williams has accepted the position <br />of Library Administrator in Wichita Falls, Texas: her resignation is <br />effective March 18, 1988. The members expressed their best wishes to <br />Tiana in her future capacity. A memorandum will be sent to board members <br />announcing the Interim Library Director within ten days. <br />Dick reported that Perry Huston & Associates estimated that the <br />Cisneros art work would cost $6,125 for conservation and matting of 25 <br />pieces. The board would like to have them appraised before deciding <br />upon their treatment. Francis Ellis pointed out their regional interest <br />and told the board the Cisneros were originals given to the library by <br />Pat Bassano and The Paris News. <br />Tiana Williams announced the following programs and events: <br />In observation of March as Texas History Month, Dottie Thielman <br />will review The Ladv Cannoneer on Thursday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. <br />in the auditorium. <br />The second annual Friends of the Library Book Review /Luncheon <br />will be Friday, March 25, 12:00 noon at the First Methodist Church. <br />Gloaia Hocking will review The Cold Sassy Tree; the charge is $12 <br />per person. <br />The Friends Literary Auction will be Sunday, April 17, 7:00 - <br />9:00 p.m. hosted by Dr. & Mrs. Mark Nardone at their home. <br />The Book Sale is scheduled for April 29 and April 30 from 10:00 <br />a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on both clays in the auditorium. <br />Robert Pierson requested a monthly report on the Memorial account <br />which indicates the beginning and ending balance, as well as the dona- <br />tions for the preceding month. <br />Please note that future board meetings will be held in the library <br />auditorium. <br />The meet ing tui journed at 4:30 p.m. <br />
