Board Meeting October 19, 1976 <br />The Board of Directors for the Paris Public Library met <br />in regular session October 19, 1976, in the Library at <br />10 A.M. with Robert Pierson, Chairman, presiding. Members <br />present were F. D..Mallory, Felix Gibson, Dee Cunningham, <br />Hershel McKinney, Dr. Black, Pat Bassano, and Mrs. Glynn <br />Lowe, Members absent were Mrs. Frank Mo Clure, Mrs. Marvin <br />Gibbs, Mrs, Printis Ellis and David Denney. Kerry Sweatt, <br />City Manager, and Mr. Green of the city were present. <br />Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Finch were also present. <br />Minutes of the September meeting were read and approved <br />with one correction (the word charter corrected to read <br />ordinance). <br />Mr. Green reported for David Denney that bids would have <br />to be taken on water prodfing the basement since its cost <br />would be over $1000. He will meet with David for further <br />discussion on this., <br />Pat Bassano showed pictures and a sketch drawn for new <br />brochures for the library. It was decided that we order <br />3000 to 5000 depending on the cost and leaving it to <br />Pat's discretion. <br />The Wilbur Memorial Book Fund was discussed. It was <br />noticed that memorials have been down the last two or <br />three months. , <br />Mr. Green read and discussed the financial statement. <br />Mr. McKinney moved approval, motion seconded and paused. <br />Mr. Pierson said ,that in a letter from Mr. Hardy Moore, <br />he stated that 50% of Christine DeShongrs estate would be <br />distributive in about two weeks. <br />Mrs. Frank McClure, in a letter to the board, asked to <br />resign from the Board of Directors. Mr. Gibson moved <br />that we accept with regrets her resignation. Mallory <br />seconded ihd, the board approved. <br />
