The Board members discussed Mrs. Alsobrook's trip to Austin <br />this date and the general concensus was to ascertain whether or not <br />they would be paid by the Texas Library Association. <br />Ms. Lewis advised a new copier would be purchased by March 1, <br />using funds from the Bond Money Account. <br />She advised the eighty -three videos from the MacArthur <br />Foundation grant were circulating well. <br />"Creature Features" will be the theme for the Summer Reading <br />Club beginning the first week of June through the third week in <br />August. Scheduled activities will take place on Thursdays and <br />Saturdays. She asked if the Friends could underwrite the program. <br />She commented on the efficiency of Pamela Sidnell and Vivian <br />Marshall who were responsible for professional and operational <br />matters while she was on a week's leave and in Austin. <br />She said she was researching a Detection System which would <br />cost from $17,000 - $20,000 and would present more information at a <br />later meeting. More than 45,000 items would have to be tagged and <br />it could be necessary to hire temporary personnel to complete the <br />project. <br />Mrs. Haslam announced a Champagne /Dessert Book Review to be <br />held April 17 at the Holy Cross Episcopal CHurch at 7:00 P.M. <br />The meeting adjourned at 5:15 P.M. <br />SZ-- e <br />Date Approved Frances Ellis, Secretary <br />
