M I N U T E S <br />PARIS PUBLIC LIBRARY ADVISORY BOARD MEETING <br />Wednesday, December 14, 1988 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met for a <br />Christmas social at 4 p.m. on December 14, 1988 at the home <br />of Mr. and Mrs. William Hagood. Board members present were <br />Rogene Patterson, Beth Shelton, William Neely, Virginia <br />Gibbs, Jean Gibson, Eric Tate and Frances Ellis, Secretary; <br />with Jackie Alsobrook absent. Library Director Beverly Ann <br />Lewis; Pamela Sidnell, Youth Librarian; Roslyn Sample, <br />Library Assistant; City Manager Mike Malone; Dick Boots, <br />Community Facilities Director; Sue Smith of the Main Street <br />Project; Claire Haslam, President of the Friends of the <br />Library and Past President Sally Cecil also attended. <br />The minutes of the November 15, 1988 meeting were <br />approved as circulated. <br />City Manager Malone complimented the Board, Staff and <br />others on the work of the Library and extended greetings for <br />the season. <br />Chairman Hagood presented a plague of appreciation from <br />the Board to Mr. Boots for his leadership in promoting and <br />Supervising the creation of the enlarged and renovated <br />Library and wished him well in his new assignments. <br />Mrs. Ellis presented a statement of appreciation from <br />the Board to Roslyn Sample for her loyalty to the Library and <br />+or serving as Interim Director on three separate occasions. <br />Ms. Lewis discussed the financial and statistical <br />reports advising that the attendance account had been dis- <br />continued because an accurate method of counting was not <br />,avai 1 abI e. The total circulation to date was 18,0422; a <br />bonafide count of adult and juvenile reference assistance was <br />,13...-5. Eleven programs had been attended by 163 persons; <br />Interlibrary Loans were 40 and going up. She reported that <br />the November adult accessions totaled 3:15 new books and will <br />give this report each month. <br />Page 1 of y <br />
