Library Advisory Board
October 22, 2003
Page 2
In adult outreach, there were 2 programs which 23 people attended. There
were 31 interlibrary loans. We had 17 memorials given for a total of $406.
Callie Thompson reported that the Fall Program was successful with
slightly less attendance than usual, but people seemed to enjoy seeing
local talent for a change. The spring luncheon will be in May and will
be a book review.
In the Director's Report, Betty discussed several items. She and Jackie
Alsobrook attended the quarterly NETLS meeting in Jacksonville on
October 15. Our Loan Star Libraries state aid will be $5161 this year. The
Library will have a crafts booth for children at the Pumpkin Festival on
October 25. Our cash register died this week and we purchased a new one
at Office Max. In a few weeks, the library will begin offering library cards
for key chains, similar to the cards grocery stores use for their customers.
Library customers may chose a regular card or a keytag, not both. Betty
will attend a geographic NETLS meeting in Van Alstyne on Friday,
October 31.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:50 p.m.
The next meeting will be held on November 19 at 4 p.m. in the Gallery.
I
Betty L: one Date Approved
