Library Advisory Board <br />March 18, 2005 <br />MEWTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />February 16, 2005 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at 4:OOPM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following Board members were present: <br />Jackie Alsobrook, Anna Davis, Deborah Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Carl Lucas, <br />Nancee Salzman, and Jake Street. Also attending were Priscilla <br />McAnally, Library Director, Amanda Green, Friends of the Library <br />President, and Gene Anderson, Finance Director for the City of Paris. <br />Absent were Sarah Gambill and Walter Williams. <br />The minutes from the January meeting were approved. <br />Gene Anderson, City of Paris Finance Director, presented information <br />related to available monies for library usage. A memo was distributed <br />listing available Library funds from Memorials and Trusts. $150, 541 is <br />available as expendable funding. The Board discussed usage of funds from <br />the available amount, for assistance in the funding the possible automation <br />system upgrade. Amanda Green, Friends President, added that $13,500 is <br />available to be used for the Library. Concern was expressed about <br />replenishing the funds that may be used. A motion was presented to <br />examine ways to maximize monies for the Library, as well as a request for <br />Mr. Anderson to present a semi - annual review of available funds. <br />Ms. McAnally discussed funding for the upgrade of the current automation <br />system. Final cost will be approximately $68,658 plus the cost of the phone <br />notification module. Requests for assistance in funding will be made to <br />local CEOs of Kimberly -Clark and Campbell's Soup by board member <br />Carl Lucas. <br />The budget report was favorable. <br />January circulation statistics were down 32% from last January, while new <br />items are up by 25 %. <br />
