Library Advisory Board <br />April 4, 2005 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />March 23, 2005 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at 4:OOPM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following Board members were present: <br />Sarah Gambill, Deborah Hatley, Carl Lucas, Nancee Salzman, Jake Street <br />and Walter Williams. Also attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library <br />Director, Amanda Green, Friends of the Library President, and Gene <br />Anderson, Finance Director for the City of Paris. Absent were Jackie <br />Alsobrook, Anna Davis, and Bill Kennedy. <br />The minutes from the February meeting were approved. <br />Ms. McAnally gave an update on the Integrated Library System upgrade. <br />GIS Information Systems Polaris will cost $68,658. This will include onsite <br />training with representatives from GIS. The additional phone notification <br />module will cost $2,750, bringing the total cost to $71,400. The annual <br />maintenance fee will be $7,742. <br />The other company that is being considered is the TLC Library Solution <br />ILS. The quoted cost for this system is $100, 029 for the first year, and <br />annual maintenance of $13,564. <br />The transition period from acceptance to operation would be <br />approximately 60 days with either system. <br />The budget report was favorable. <br />February circulation statistics were down 25% from last February, while <br />library visits were down 17 %. A total of 529 new items were added to the <br />collection in February. <br />
