Library Advisory Board <br />July 18, 2005 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />June 15, 2005 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session Wednesday, <br />June 15, at 4:OOPM in the Library with Chairman Nancee Salzman presiding. <br />The following Board members were present: Jackie Alsobrook, Anna Davis, <br />Sarah Gambill, Deborah Hatley, Bill Kennedy, Carl Lucas, Nancee Salzman <br />and Jake Street. Also attending were Priscilla McAnally, Library Director, <br />and Amanda Green, Friends of the Library President. Absent was Walter <br />Williams. <br />The minutes from the May meeting were approved. <br />Nominating committee members Sarah Gambill and Jake Street presented next <br />year's proposed slate of officers. Serving as Chairman will be Bill Kennedy, <br />Vice - Chairman will be Jake Street and Secretary will be Deborah Hatley. <br />Three names were presented to the Board to replace outgoing members Anna <br />Davis, Nancee Salzman, and Walter Williams. The Board approved Debbie <br />Anderson, Audrey Lakes, and Fran Neeley be recommended to the City <br />Manager and City Council at the July 11 Council meeting for consideration as <br />members of the Library Advisory Board. <br />The budget report was favorable. Ms. McAnally submitted budget requests for <br />the 2005 -2006 fiscal year to the City Manager. A personnel request in the <br />proposed budget included reclassification of a Clerk II to Library <br />paraprofessional. <br />May circulation was down 21 % from the same month of 2004, and library visits <br />were down 11 %. A total of 432 new items were added to the collection in May. <br />Children's programming in May included 8 programs with 218 children and 49 <br />adults attending. <br />Memorial donations for May totaled $377. <br />
