Library Advisory Board
October 17, 2001
Page 2
Friend of the Library president, Callie Thompson, stated that the October
1 luncheon earned approximately $1900.00. The puppet theater is in the
works. Some die cuts are being purchased for the Children's division.
Callie also stated that the spring luncheon was being planned, which would
include a book review.
Betty Landon, Library Director, stated that October 15 was the first
Monday for the library to be open with 225 people attending. John
Howison and Betty attended a NETLS meeting in Mineola. Betty stated
that we should receive $6- 7,000.00 from the Lone Star program. She
hopes to use that money for automatic front doors to the library. Also,
Betty has spoken at the Texana Study Club and the Lions Club. Betty
stated that the staff likes being open on Mondays, as it gives them
flexibility in their working schedule. Patrons have also stated that they like
the new strollers.
The motion to adjourn was made by Walter Williams and seconded by
Vickie Terlap. The meeting adjourned at 4:40 pm.
The November meeting will be on the 21st, at 4 pm in the Library Gallery.
Anna Davis
/a //9
,0/
Date Approved
