Kaufma , Paris, Texas 5460 Re: Acct #21- 001530 -02 Attention: Department Manager This constitutes my formal objection to the sewer charge of Forty - Four dollars and thirty -three cents ($44.33) for the period from 7 -31 -95 to 9 -12 -95 on subject account. However, I will timely pay the total of Ninety -Nine dollars and ninety -two cents ($99.92), including the above cited objectionable charge. I OBJECT to the calculated sewer charge levied by this bill as the period covered was over the time span in which weather temperatures were extremely high and during which I tried to keep my grass, flowers and shrubs from burning from the heat. My specific objection is to the amount of the sewer charge and the total consumption water volume used in its calculation as charged - back for sewage plant treatment. This is totally excessive since lawn water use and its unavoidable run -off NEVER enters the treatment system. I would estimate that no more that one half (1/2) of the consumption water volume entered the system due to household use, while the balance was lost to beneficial treatment use. Too, I recognize that the period billed was for more than one calendar month. I realize that the city of Paris utility charge rate structure legally allows the method used for calculating sewer service but that method is WRONG and should be changed to a more realistic factor in setting the sewer service charge. The current charge structure imposes an undue hardship on those of us who wish to have an attractive yard as well as to have a positive reflection on Paris as pretty city.
