Dan Smith: "I think once we finalize the presentation, we ought to think about
what kind of questions do you hear that people are asking in the community. When
I thought about that and looked at the presentation, there are a lot of questions
that aren't part of the presentation. You know, like if you had a drought while
you're pulling 55 million gallons a day from the lake, how long would it take
before you lose the boat ramps - things that would interest people. After we
finish it, we could think about it and maybe do a Frequently Asked Questions on
the back end of the presentation.
Dennis Chalaire: "We already have a FAQ list the city came up with early on."
Robert Campbell: "Reeves, I think there's one thing that's left out of this
presentation, that's pretty important. And that is, the peak days. And I asked
Shawn to give me some information on that. The peak days in July of 2006 was
24.820 (million gallons), so that's a long way from the average 10 to 12 (mgd). I
think we're misleading the public if we're just giving that information (average)
without giving the peak days."
Dan Smith: "How long did it last ?"
Robert Campbell: "It pumped 24- something million that one day."
Dan Smith: "But it would matter, the peak days, how long do they last ?"
Robert Campbell: "What it matters is, if you do that very long, it draws it down
pretty fast, but the thing that you have to think about is what kind of
limitation do you have on the 55 (mgd). You can't pump 56, or 60, when you're
limited to 55. So I think that is a ...."
Dan Smith: "My question is, that's one day, and we're limited to 55 averages,
aren't we? Is there really a one -day max that you can't ever go over 55? I mean,
if the peak only lasted one day - it's going to last more than one day, I
understand that, but it's not going to last long."
Robert Campbell: "Of course, in 2006, near that peak lasted several days."
Reeves Hayter: "It would probably be relatively easy to change the peak day
limit, but you would have to amend the permit. But that's a good point. Do we
have any peak day information in the presentation ?"
Dennis Chalaire: "I have a column for that, but no numbers. I'm still looking for
the actual numbers."
Dan Smith: "It would be useful information."
Robert Campbell: "It would give you some idea how you draw down."
Dan Smith: "In other words, if you take the peak day in the worst year, which is
06, and if we could pump over the limit, and we were contracted out for 55 (mgd),
then we handle the peak day for local consumption, how far would that 2'
Robert Campbell: "What we've been dealing with, in this information, the average
has been a thing that was said quite a bit, but these contracts, you enter into
