MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2012 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, <br />Chairman at 12:02 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Paul Denney <br />Douglas Cox <br />Nancy Anderson <br />Ben Vaughan <br />David Stewart <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Britin Bostick <br />Lauri Redus <br />C. Also present Jeanna Scott, Historic Preservation Officer; Robert Talley, Code <br />Enforcement Supervisor and Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager. <br />** A special note of recognition and thanks to Ms. Jeanna Scott for her outstanding work <br />as the Historic Preservation Officer was made by Paul Denney. The Commission <br />wished her well in her new endeavors. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (October 22, 2012; November 14, 2012) <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the meeting <br />minutes for October 22, 2012; November 14, 2012. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 134 1 sr Street S. W. — Richard Hunt, contractor representing the property owner <br />presented the petition. Mr. Hunt stated Cheri Bedford presented a Design Report from <br />the Texas Main Street Project Design Assistants for the property. Mr. Hunt reported <br />Mr. Truby had to prioritize and fix the roof, which took most of the funds for repairs, <br />but prevented further damage. Mr. Hunt proposed at this time to mothball the <br />Kaufrnan Street entrance by framing it with wood studs in the proposed design, and <br />painting the exterior wood where the windows would be with glossy paint to give the <br />impression of glass as a temporary solution until Mr. Truby can begin appropriate <br />restoration. Mr. Hunt requested later using blanker panels at this time for transom <br />windows was the best option and most important thing right now is to secure the <br />building and preventing vandalism. Motion was made by Nancy Anderson, seconded <br />by Ben Vaughn to approve mothballing techniques for 1 year. Motion carried 5 -0 <br />
