JULY, 1984
ADVISORY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
MINUTES
The Advisory Board of Health met at the Paris-Lamar County Health Unit on
Tuesday, July 24, at 7:00 P.M. The following members were present: Mrs.
Ann Norment; Chairman, Mrs. Frances Ellis, Mr. Hack Blankenship, and Dr.
Bill George. Also present was Dr. Hillhouse, representing the Health
Department.
Mr. Blankenship called the meeting to order about 7:15. Dr. Hillhouse
gave a report on estimates he had gotten from McClanahan and Holmes, and
Paul Wells for auditing of the Health Department. Mrs. Ellis made the
motion that we engage Paul Wells for this. Dr. George seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
Dr. Hillhouse gave a report on his personal Liability Insurance, stating
that it would be with the same company as last year. (Cost of 51309.)
He also gave a report on Mosquito, in the absence of Mr. Pursifull, telling
of our two men from JPTA. We will pay half their salary until September
15, then we pay all their salary for the remainder of the season.
Mrs. Norment asked that we get another bid or two on the Liability cover-
age on the pick -ups, since there will be an increase with Norment and
Castleberry. Dr. Kraft made the motion that we approve the coverage on
the trucks, which we now have, Mrs. Ellis seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
Mrs. Ellis made the motion we add expense of mosquito spraying to this
years budget. Mrs. Norment seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Hillhouse gave a report on the $4,000.00 which we are to receive from
the State. Since they have a new man in Austin, taking Bob Goolsby's
place, and he says we must buy the supplies and /or furniture which we
listed and send them the invoices before we will receive the money, this
is what we will do.
Dr. Kraft made the motion for the price of the air conditioners, which we
had to replace for those stolen, be added to our budget. Mrs. Ellis
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Dr. Hillhouse discussed pay increases for all or part to be paid locally
for a step 2 for Clerk III and made mention that none of the locally paid
employees are up to the State Pay Scale. Mrs. Ellis made the motion to
write Austin concerning raises for the ones on contract. Dr. Kraft seconded
the motion. Motion carried. Dr. Kraft seemed to think that contacting some-
one with the State Board of Health might be of some help.
