a, <br />ADVISORY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING <br />MINCITES <br />'"he Advisory Board of Health met at the Holidav Inn on Tuesday, August 4, <br />1987. Members present were: Mrs. Ann Norment, Mrs. Frances Ellis, Dr. <br />Bill George, Dr. Gordon Strom, and Dr. Thomas Cutrell. Members absent <br />were: Dr. Richard Bercher, Dr. I.1allace Kraft, and Rev. Samuel Evans. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Ann Norment, at approximately <br />7.00 A.M. Mrs. Norment called for a reading of the minutes. The minutes <br />were read by Petty Kenned -, with only one minor chance recuested by Mrs. <br />*?orm•s nt . <br />At this time Mrs. •Iorm,�nt called on Dr. Hillh -use for a renort on services <br />Provided by the Health Department; then a renort from Anthonv Bethel <br />concernincr services provided by the Sanitation Department. Mrs. Norment <br />asked for a typed report of the number of people served by this Department, <br />and copies to be passed out to the Board Members at the next meeting. <br />A discussion of the short -fall in the budget followed and Tudge Burns <br />said he could only speak for himself and not the commissioners, but that <br />the Countv would be willing to pav their nortion of the deficit. Dr.. <br />George made the motion that the City and Countv come to some agreement on <br />this. Mrs. Ellis Feconded the motion. <br />Dr. Futrell asked if the hoard should have a more active nart in the <br />administration of the Health nenartment and *ors. Norment informed him <br />that the Board -is only to advise the Director of the Health Department. <br />Terry K. Havnes corrected her and said the Board was a Governing Board. <br />t <br />
