MINUTES
PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
OCTOBER 20, 1988
The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met Thursday, October 21,
1988 at the Health Department Building. Mrs. Norment called the meeting
to order at 7:13 A.M. The board members present were: Mrs. Norment,
ivirs. Ellis, Dr. Cutrell, Dr. Kraft, Dr. Bercher, Dr. Strom, Rev. Evans,
and Dr. Brooks.
The minutes from our August meeting were reviewed and approved.
A four member quorum was established and approved by all.
Alice Anderson announced that Dr. Hillhouse would undergo surgery
on October 21, 1988 and have his left kidney removed. If everything
goes well he plans to return to work within 4 to 6 weeks. Alice talked
to Dr. Crowder with Region 7 in Tyler and they could send a doctor
for 1 clinic only on Nov. 9, 1988.
Dr. Cutrell spoke concerning temporary coverage for the Health
Dept. while Dr. Hillhouse is recovering from surgery. His first option
was to get an OB -GYN Resident doctor from Dallas. Liability insurance
would probably be a problem. His second option was to call a meeting
with the Paris -Lamar County Medical Society and discuss coverage. He
plans to have a separate discussion between our Obstetricians here.
All the board members asked that we not accept any doctor coverage
from Tyler. The Pediatric Clinic will cover our Immunization and Well -
Child Clinics. Dr. Bercher will cover our Veneral Disease Clinics. All
board members agreed that we should send all emergency patients to the
hospital emergency rooms.
Bob Ricks passed out copies of our August and September monthly
reports.
Our next board meeting will be on October 25, 1988, here at the
Paris -Lamar County Health Department at 7:00 A.M.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 A.M.
Respectfully Submitted,
Sharon J. Semis, Clerk III
OCT 24 ,
