MINUTES
PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING
NOVEMBER 1, 1988
The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met Tuesday, November 1,
1988, at the Health Department Building. Mrs. Norment was unable to
attend the meeting. Dr. Cutrell called the meeting to order at 7:15
A.M. The board members present were: Dr. Cutrell, Dr. Strom, Dr.
Bercher, and Dr. Brooks.
Dr. Cutrell asked that a correction be made on the third para-
graph of the previous minutes. He stated that our Ob -Gyn doctors
- would be willing to help us out if the situation could be one they
,1r can have °control over. They realize their civic duty and responsi-
bility to our community. But the situation is not appropriate to
ask our Ob doctors to jump in and help unless we make changes, es-
pecially our record keeping to conform to how they would like things
kept. We would also be asking them to in-
crease their already heavy work load.
Dr. Bercher contacted two Residents from Nocona, Texas who work
weekends at St. Joseph Hospital. They provide 24 hour coverage for
$ 1,000.00.
Anthony Bethel was asked to obtain a Medicaid Provider number
for our clinic.
Gene Anderson stated that our Budget really has no excess funds.
He estimated that we have no more than $ 9,000.00 if temporary
coverage is our only emergency.
Dr. Strom made a recommendation that we invite our Ob D'.octors
here to talk about the coverage situation. Dr. Cutrell, Dr. Strom,
Dr. Brooks, and Dr. Bercher agreed to call a discussion committee
meeting with the Ob Doctors at noon, November 2, 1988 at McCuistion
Hospital.
Dr. Strom made a motion that we go ahead and try to get a Noco-
na Resident Doctor to come here for our Ob Clinics. Dr. Brooks made
