PART S -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MINUTES <br />The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met at 7:00 a.m. on <br />May 25, 1989, at the Holiday Inn. <br />Dr. Strom called the meeting to order at 7:10 a.m. The <br />board members present were Dr. Strom, Dr. Cutrell, Mrs. <br />Ellis, and Mrs. Norment. T.K. Haynes, Mike Malone, and <br />Anthony Bethel were also present. <br />Mr. Haynes announced that he talked with Dr. Gonzalez <br />during yesterday's Family Planning clinic. She was not <br />satisfied with the amount of salary when talking to Dr. <br />Bercher. Her husband disliked the Idea of her going to <br />the Jail alone. She would like to have a qualified person <br />to accompany her to the Jail. It is risky bringing Jail <br />patients to the health department. Dr. Gonzalez would <br />consider our contract if it was 20 hours a week with 4 <br />hours of Jail work. The annual salary would be <br />$47,000.00, with insurance Included on top of that <br />totaling around $60,000.00 yearly. <br />Mr. Bethel stated that Dr. Hillhouse plans to return to <br />work around June 1, 1989. Rev. Evans said the board needs <br />to make a decision about Dr. Hillhouse's contract. Dr. <br />Strom agreed to talk to Dr. Hillhouse. <br />Dr. Cutrell made a motion that we re -offer Dr. Gonzalez <br />the 30 hours per week and a contract for 6 months only. <br />The pay is comparable to the emergency room pay. <br />The board would like to call a special meeting May 30, <br />1989, at 7:00 a.m., at the Holiday Inn to meet Dr. <br />Gonzalez. <br />The next regular meeting is scheduled for June 15, 1989, <br />at the Holiday Inn at 7:00 a.m.. <br />This meeting was adjourned at 7:50 a.m.. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Sharon J.
