Lamar County Rural Health Clinic Board Minutes of Meeting The Rural Health Clinic Board held its first meeting September 28, 1993 at 6:45 AM at PJC in the Alford Learning Center. Those in attendance included Dr. Cutrell, Ann Norment, Deane Loughmiller, Troy Owens, Mike Malone, T. K. Haynes, Evelyn Freeman, Gary Gunder, Julie Maddox, Mike Norby, Jae Dickinson and Carrie Thompson. The meeting was called to order at 6:50. The first item to be decided was what the clinic was going to be called. It was decided that the name would be Lamar County Rural Health Clinic. Discussion was held regarding what is needed in order to get the Rural Health Clinic off the ground. A Nurse Practitioner, 2 nurses and 2 clerks need to be hired. The Rural Health Clinic application requires the name of the Medical Director or Directors. It was suggested the each hospital recruit 1 doctor. Discussion was held as to whether the Administrator should be hired prior to the Nurse Practitioner(s). This deci=sion can not be made until it is decided whether Anthony will be the Rural Health Clinic Administrator or not. The Medical Directors) should be hired first. Evelyn Freeman suggested meeting with the OB /GYN Physicians at McCuistion and get that Director decided. Dr. Cutrell suggested deciding how long they would serve before talking with the OB /GYNS. A suggestion was made that if Anthony was named as -the Administrator, after 1 year he would be reevaluated. Regarding the Medical Director(s), Evelyn Freeman said she would take responsibility to get the OB /GYN Physicians together and decide on an OB /GYN Director. Gary Gunder will be assisting her. Julie Maddox and Mike Norby will be recruiting the Primary Care Physician Medical Director. Julie Maddox said the current personnel files at the Health Department needed to be looked at to make sure they are up to date. The question was raised as to who actually owns the Paris -Lamar County Health Department.
