T.K. asked what
Kendra would say to a prospective applicant for the Nurse
Practitioner position about the status or possibility at
the Health Dept. Would it be positive or negative.
Kendra said very positive. She said at the Health
Department she had to rely more on clinical judgment
rather than diagnostic testing in treating the patients
due to the amount of time it takes to get lab reports
back. Julie said she thought the receptiveness of the
staff was very good. T.K. said he thought it might help
to talk to a Nurse Practitioner seeing patients at the
Health Department whether the report was good or bad.
Discussion was held regarding the hiring of a Nurse
Practitioner. Julie told the RHC board that Danise
Petticrew wants the job permanently. Julie also told the
board that Danise is originally from this area. The base
salary if approved will be $50,000.00 with a bonus system
of 20% of the annual salary for number of patients seen,
and five days off paid plus $2,000.00 per year for
educational purposes. Regarding the cost for relocation,
Julie suggested seeing if the Company that hired Mrs.
Petticrew's husband would be interested in splitting the
cost. Julie asked if the City has any kind of an
incentive plan. Mike Malone said not that he knows of but
to put a proposal on paper and the City will look at it.
Mike Malone said to fax it to City Hall attention Gene.
Dr. Moseley asked if the incentive could be based on the
amount of revenue brought in. Julie said that it couldn't
because the Nurse Practitioner can't set the rates.
