PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY HEALTH BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />The Paris -Lamar County Health Board met on November 20, 1990 at 7:00 A.M. <br />at the Holiday Inn. Board members present were: Dr. Bercher, Dr. Strom, <br />Mrs. Norment, Dr. Cutrell, and Dr. Kraft. Others present were:'T.K. Haynes, <br />Lorrin Scott, Dr. Fetner, Anthony Bethel, Mike Malone, Gene Anderson, and <br />Sharon Seals. <br />The minutes were read by Sharon Seals. <br />Lorrin sent a report with the agenda to all board members. The report <br />covered one years' service at the Lamar County Health Department. Dr. <br />Bercher mentioned the letter was well written and informative. Lorrin <br />discussed TB skin testing done at the jail recently. <br />Dr. Fetner said the grant for an Aids Coordinator has been submitted. The <br />health department went to Oak Park United Methodist Church Day Care Center <br />and gave 62 gamma globulin shots. We are giving Hib Titer Vaccine to infants <br />starting at 8 weeks of age. She presented a copy of the consent form that we <br />have the parents read, sign, and then attach to our permanent immunization <br />record. She said another grant is due in December on Cancer Screening and <br />would appreciate any ideas on this. She also presented a letter to the board <br />and gave up the title of Medical Director. Dr. Bercher said they would ad- <br />dress this letter in a closed session following this meeting. <br />Anthony Bethel presented the monthly report. We are inspecting an average of <br />55 restaurants per month. He said the Seventh Street Baptist Church is asking <br />$ 99,500.00 for their property. Dr. Bercher recommended that Lorrin check out <br />any possibilities of the health department using part of the old Lamar County <br />Hospital and report back on this. <br />Gene Anderson discussed our budget. The county budgeted $ 70,000.00 and they <br />should have budgeted about $ 116,000.00. Lorrin asked Judge Loughmiller to <br />attend this meeting. Dr. Strom said he would contact the Judge today about <br />the budget. Dr. Kraft said he also invited Troy Owens to this meeting. Gene <br />sends out a report to all the board members. <br />Dr. Fetner talked about a letter she received from the Department of Human <br />Resources. They asked that we continue to issue free non certified copies <br />of birth certificates to their clients when requested. The board agreed on <br />this. <br />The next board meeting is scheduled for January 15, 1991, at 7:00 A.M. at <br />the Holiday Inn. <br />This meeting adjourned at 7:38 A.M. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Sharon J.
