VARIS -LAMAR COUNTY UEAF,.TH BOARD <br />MINUTES <br />The Paris -Lamar County Health Board met on Tuesday, April 23, <br />1991, at the Holiday Inn. The meeting was called to order by <br />Ricliar.d Bercher, M.D. at 7:03 A.M. <br />Board members present were: Richard Bercher, M.D., Gordon Strom, <br />M.D., Thomas Cutrell, M.D., Mrs, Ann Norment, and Mrs. Francis <br />Ellis. Other'; present were: Gene Anderson, T.K. Haynes, Lorrin <br />ScoLL, Dr.. Lucy FoLner, Anthony Bethel, Michael Malone, and <br />Sharon Seals. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting on March 26, 1991 were <br />approved as read. <br />Dr. Fetner attended the March of Dimes meeting in Arlington <br />and reported that we will hear from them later. She stated that <br />the Health Department needs to work out a new policy for Hepati- <br />tis B screening. The Health Department does not have funds for <br />providing the expensive vaccine. Dr. Strom asked if we have had <br />any request for AZT medication and learned that we have had none. <br />Lorrin Scott..reported that the Health'Depar.tment had a follow -up <br />inspection by Maternal and Child Health from Austin. Dr. Simpson, <br />one of Dr. Fetner's colleagues came up and we were given an ex- <br />cellent report. They also inspected Paris Health Services and <br />they are having trouble with administration—The State has made, <br />changes in the Immunization Schedule agaih and copies were hand <br />ed out. T.K. Haynes suggested that Lorain share the State report <br />with City Council and Commissioners Court. Lorrin attended a <br />medical meeting in Galveston last week. He said that city and <br />county officials need to meet and revise their pre- employment <br />PhYulQalu as bravk x -rays are not recommended now. our nurses <br />attended a Stress Management Seminar in Texarkana last week. <br />Anthony gave the monthly report. Complaints were down.and fees <br />were down from last year. Bonanza has been totally remodeled. <br />Tuberculosis Control has 10 positive reactors on INH and 4 cases <br />now. <br />T.K. Haynes said the city will start requiring grease trap checks <br />with Health Permit Inspections. <br />The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 28, 1991, at 6:45 A.M. at <br />the Holiday Inn. <br />This meeting was adjourned at 7;45 A.M. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Sharon <br />
