PARIS -LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MINUTES <br />The Paris -Lamar Board of Health met.on Tuesday, February 20,1990 at <br />7:00 A.M. at the Holiday Inn. The board members present were: Rev. <br />Evans, Dr. Strom, Mrs. Norment, Mrs. Ellis, and Dr. Brooks. Others <br />present were: Gene Anderson, T.K. Haynes, Mike Malone, Barbra Francis, <br />Anthony Bethel, Sally Hines, and Sharon Seals. <br />Anthony Bethel passed the monthly report out at 7:20 A.M. <br />Lorrin Scott presented bids for remodeling the ,exam rooms at the <br />health.department. The lowest bid was $ 3800.00. There is $ 8,000.00 <br />budgeted for repairs. The janitor now works 64 hours a month for $5.00 <br />an hour. <br />Dr. Strom made a motion to remodel the exam rooms. Rev. Evans seconded <br />the motion. The motion carried. Dr. Strom also mentioned that Dr. Lucy <br />Fetner would arrive in a few months. <br />Mrs. Sally Hines presented information at 7:45 A.M. about restaurants <br />in Paris. She discussed a conversation that she had with someone at the <br />health department a year ago. She has inquired in surrounding areas <br />about the health requirements in their restaurants. Then she passed <br />around a list of suggestions for our restaurants: Mrs. Hines thanked <br />the board for allowing her to express her views about.our reataurants <br />and left at 7:51 A.M. <br />Anthony Bethel said we do check our restaurants twice a year and require <br />the managers attendance at a Food Handlers School once a year.. Mi. Bethel <br />will write a letter back to Mrs. Hinds. <br />Mr. Bethel passed out copies of suggestions for new fees for restaurants. <br />These were reviewed. Dr. Strom made a motion to raise the fees. Rev. <br />Evans seconded the motion. The motion passed. <br />Lorrin Scott talked about our computer system. The restaurant inspections <br />are already in it. Dr. Strom suggested that with our remodeling we modify <br />and run dedicated lines for the computer. <br />Dr. Strom discussed WIC expansion and asked if an engineer has actually <br />looked at the b4ilding. WIC needs three bids on putting in their computer. <br />The next board meeting will be on March 20, 1990 at 7:00 A.M. at the <br />Holiday Inn. <br />This meeting adjourned at 8:19. A.M. Closed session began at 8:20 A.M. <br />The per present were: Lorrin Scott, Dr. Strom,'Mrs. Ellis, Rev. Evans, <br />and-Dr. Brooks. . <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />
