Paris -Lamar County.Board of Health Minutes The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health met on Tuesday,..Ra,rch 20, 1990 at 7:00 A.M. at the Holiday Inn. The board members present were: Dr. Bercher, Dr. Strom, Mrs. Ellis, Dr. Cutrell, Dr. Brooks, and Dr. Kraft. Others present were: T.K. Haynes, Gene Anderson, Lor.rin Scott, Mike Patterson, Mike Malone, Anthony Bethel, and Sharon Seals. Dr. Bercher called the meeting to order at 7:15 A.M. The minutes were reviewed and Dr. Strom made some additions. In paragraph eight he explained that we could run dedicated telephone lines for the computer. In paragraph nine Dr. Strom clarified that an engineer has-already looked at the building for WIC expansion. Dr Bercher asked for Anthony to explain more about the restaurant fees. Mr. Haynes said a county law has to be- w -kifte —h regarding fees out in the county. The minutes then were approved. The exam rooms have been remodeled since the last meeting. WIC was given part of our old Laboratory and is being remodel- ed. The health department Lab is almost completed. Dr. Strom has talked with Dr. Lucy Fetner recently. She agreed to work 30 hours a week with 3 or 4 weeks vacation for $25,000. to $30,000. a year. Mrs. Ellis made a motion that the board accept the $30,000.00 salary, package. Dr. Strom seconded. All were in favor. Dr. Strom, Dr. Bercher, and Dr. Cutrell agreed to form a com- mittee and meet soon to establish policies concerning the types of physical examinations that can be given at the health de- partrment. A report will be given at our next meeting. Lorrin Scott said jail services were down on our monthly re- port because he is going early to the jail. He passed around a health department pamphlet that has been put together recently. The board members found it to be very informative. The next board meeting is scheduled for April 24, 1990 at 7:00 A.M. at the Holiday Inn. This meeting adjourned at 8:07 A.M. Respectfully Submitted, Sharon J. Seals
