PARS S-LAMALR COUNTY BOARD OF HRAIrIH <br />MINUTES OF MEETING <br />The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular <br />meeting on Wednesday,.April 2, 1997 at St. Joseph's <br />Hospital. Board members present included Dr. Robert <br />Moseley, Dr. Charles Tarvin, Dr. Bert Strom. Mrs. Ann <br />Norment, and Mrs. Frances Ellis. Others in.attendance <br />included Mr. Mike Malone, Mr. T.K. Haynes, Judge Chuck <br />Superville, Mr. Anthony Bethel, Mr, Bob Ricks, Mr. Mike <br />.Norby, Mr- Gary Conwell, and.Mrs. LaDonna Koehn. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:15 am, and the <br />minutes of the previous meeting were approved. <br />Dr. Strom made a motion to elect the same officers that <br />were elected the previous year. Dr. Tarvin seconded the <br />motion, and the motion carried. <br />Under discussion of LaDonna attending training seminars, <br />Dr. Strom made a motion that was seconded by Mrs. Norment <br />that LaDonna be allowed to attend a conference on HIV. <br />The motion carried. Dr. Strom made a motion that was <br />seconded by Dr. Tarvin that LaDonna be allowed to attend a <br />pharmaceutical seminar in Dallas. The motion carried. <br />Anthony passed out monthly reports, and made the Board <br />aware that people are not showing up for their scheduled <br />appointments at the Health Department. He stated that 98 <br />did not keep their appointment last month, and suggesting <br />doing some type of advertising campaign to let the public <br />know of services offered at the Health Department. <br />Dr. Moseley stated that he teaches two classes per year at <br />Paris High School on oral hygiene, and suggested that the <br />board consider doing this regarding family planning. Mrs. <br />Norment suggested going to all high schools, not just <br />Paris High. The board asked Anthony to check with county <br />high schools regarding this and report back to the board <br />at the next meeting. <br />The next meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, June 18th, <br />at 7:00 am, at McCuistion Reg.
