PARIS-LAMAR COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />MINUTES OF MEETING <br />The Paris-Lamar County Board of Health held its regular <br />meeting on Wednesday, July 23rd, 1997, at St. Joseph's <br />Hospital. Board members present included Dr. Robert <br />Moseley, Dr. Wally Kraft, Dr. Bert Strom, Mrs. Ann <br />Norment, and Mrs, Francis Ellis. Others in attendance <br />included Judge Chuck Superville, Mrs. Latricia Miller, Mr. <br />Gene Anderson, Mr. T.K. Haynes, Mr. Mike Malone, Mr. <br />Anthony Bethel, Mr. Bob Ricks, Mr. Mike Norby, Ms. Susan <br />Walliser, and Dr. Jon Plummer. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:10 am. Mrs. Norment <br />made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Strom that the <br />minutes from the previous meeting be approved. The motion <br />carried. <br />Dr. Strom and Mrs. Norment were sworn in for another term <br />by City Attorney T.K. Haynes. <br />Under discussion of renewal of Dr. Plummer's contract, Dr. <br />Strom made a motion that was seconded by Dr. Kraft that <br />Dr. Plummer's contract be renewed. The motion carried. <br />Under discussion of the purchase of a defibrillator for <br />the Health Department, Dr. Plummer advised the Board that <br />he felt the Health Department needed to purchase a <br />defibrillator to have in the event that one was needed at <br />the Health Department. Dr. Strom requested that Anthony <br />find out if LaDonna is ACLS certified. Dr. Kraft made a <br />motion that was seconded by Mrs. Norment that a <br />defibrillator be purchased for the Health Department. The <br />motion carried. <br />Under discussion of switching Dorothy Edwards from a state <br />employee to a contract, Mr. Bethel advised the Board that <br />Dorothy retired from the State effective July 1, 1997, and <br />that he had received approval to switch her to local <br />employee status with a contract from the State. No action <br />was necessary on this agenda item. <br />Under discussion of LaDonna attending training, Dr. Strom <br />made a motion that was seconded by Mrs. Norment that <br />LaDonna be approved to go to a conference in September or <br />October- The motion carried. <br />Under discussion of painting the outside of the Health <br />Department building, Mr. Bethel advised the Board the Fire <br />Chief Steve Burgin stated that we could possibly utilize <br />some of the prisoners from Bonham to repair and repaint <br />the exterior of the building. Mrs. Norment made a motion <br />that was seconded by Mrs. Ellis that Mr. Bethel seek bids <br />to repair and paint the exterior of the building.
