Faris —Lamar County Mealth 1oistrict <br />400 West Sherman Street <br />LisParis, Texas 75460 TE <br />Voice: 903 - 785 -4561 <br />www.parislamorhealth.com <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Paris - Lamar County Board of Health <br />The Paris - Lamar County Board of Health held a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014. <br />In attendance were Dr. Keith House, Mr. William Collins, Dr. William George, and Dr. Mark Gibbons. Not in <br />attendance were Dr. Rick Erickson and Mrs. Kristi Head. Dr. Singh has resigned as a board member. Others in <br />attendance were Mrs. Gina Prestridge, Ms. Cheryl Johnson, Mrs. Carla Rhodes, Mrs. Rebecca Sanders and <br />Mrs. Elishia Brothers. <br />Dr. House called the meeting to order in open session at 5:50 p.m. <br />Mr. Collins made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Gibbons that minutes from the February 18th' 2014 <br />meeting be approved. <br />Mrs. Prestridge advised the board members that at the last board meeting Dr. Erickson made the motion and <br />was seconded by Dr. House to approve the Interloca/ Agreement (ILA) with changes to section 1.2, 1.3, and <br />6.3. (1.2 — remove "who shall resided in the County for a period of three years or more preceding their <br />appointment', 1.3 — remove "or employee" from be related to an elected official or employee, and 6.3 — <br />delete this entire section.) Dr. House made the motion and was seconded by Dr. Erickson to accept the ILA <br />with these changes and then to provide a copy to the City of Paris and Lamar County with an effective date at <br />the end of this fiscal year on September 30th. All members accepted.Mr. Collins stated that Judge Superville <br />and Mr. Collins were concerned that the City of Paris may evidently try to completely walk away from the <br />Health District if all basics are not covered in this document. Section 121.047 (Finances) of the Texas Health <br />Safety Code reads: <br />The members of a public health district shall pay the costs necessary to operate the district, including costs for: <br />(1) staff salaries; <br />(2) supplies; <br />(3) suitable offices; <br />(4) health and clinic centers; <br />(5) health services and facilities; and <br />(6) maintenance. <br />Acts 1989, 71st Leg., ch. 678, Sec. 1, eff.
