MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />PARIS- LAMAR,COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH <br />The Paris -Lamar County Board of Health held its regular meeting Tuesday, October 13, 2004, <br />at Paris -Lamar County Health Department. Board members in attendance include Dr. Robert <br />Moseley, Dr. Caroline Wilson, Dr. Bert Strom, Dr. Wally Kraft, Dr. David Carpenter and Mr. <br />Larry Reaves. Others in attendance included Mr. Anthony Bethel, Mrs. LaDonna Koehn and <br />Mrs. Carla Rhodes. <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM. <br />The minutes of the previous meeting was approved with motion made by Dr. Strom and second <br />by Dr. Carpenter. <br />Mr. Bethel informed the Board that Mrs. Jackson resigned her position from the Board because <br />she is moving to Frisco., <br />Mr. Bethel informed the board that the Billing Clerk had resigned and while the position was <br />filled there was not enough funds received to cover the salary of a Billing Clerk. <br />Dr. Strom suggested contracting out Medicare/Medicaid billing. <br />Mr. Reaves states Red River Valley Radiology does contract billing. <br />Mr. Bethel states that the Health Department has not purchased a difibrillator (AED) but has <br />$5000 in the new budget to purchase one. <br />Dr. Carpenter suggested purchasing a Doppler, which will cost approximately $500. <br />Mr. Bethel presented the monthly and Y.T.D. statistics of the Health Department, pointing out <br />WIC had served 2000 more participants this year the last year with a total of participates served <br />for the year being 17,548. <br />Dr. Carpenter brought up discussion of Paris News publishing that the Health Department had <br />received funds that Medicare is now taking out of EMS funds. <br />Mr. Bethel explained that he has contacted Trail Blazer for help because the check Medicare <br />claims the Health Department received, there has been no record of a cancelled check or record <br />of a wire transfer. <br />Dr. Kraft states he will contact Mark Homer to see if he could help resolve the funds. <br />
