City Council Drainage Study Committee
November 30, 2000
Page 3
water all the time.
Larry Fendley, 635 42nd S. E., appeared before the Committee telling them that
there is a seasonal creek that runs north and south about 100 yards east of 42nd
S E. and that seasonal creek floods and gets out of it banks periodically and
comes up approximately 100 feet in his back yard. Mr. Fendley said it floods one
of his neighbor's garages, and floods houses in the Margraves Addition. Mr.
Fendley advised that one of the problems is the creek has an S curve in the 600
Block of 42nd S. E. Street and the curve needs to be removed along with the
debris and he felt that would solve the problem.
Mayor Pro Tem Manning reported that a Ms. Arnold called him about a
drainage ditch behind the 3500 Block of West Houston Street , which is the
opposite end of where the Committee walked down behind Graham Street and
35t' Street. She advised him that there is a low area and water stands.
No one else appeared before the Committee, and the public hearing was declared
closed.
The Committee scheduled a meeting of the Drainage Study Committee to take
a look at the above drainage problem for Thursday, December 7, 2000, at 5:00
P. M.
After further discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by
Mayor Pro Tem Manning, to 'adjourn the meeting.
BENNY PLATA, CHAIRMAN
ATTEST:
MATTIE CUNNINGHAM, CITY CLERK
