MINUTES OF THE FIRE AND BUILDING CODE REVIEW COMMITTEE <br />CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET, PARIS, TEXAS <br />February 23, 2010 <br />5:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />Chairman Waldrum called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. The following members were <br />present: Bobby Smallwood, Bryan Hargis, Carolyn Whelchel, Gary Brown, Jerry Harting, John <br />Fuston, and Johnny Norris. Council Members Kear and Pickle were present. Also, present were <br />city staff Kevin Carruth, Kent McIlyar, Janice Ellis, and Ronnie Grooms. <br />2. Deliberate and review of the Fire and Building Codes. <br />Chairman Waldrum referred the Committee to the proposed amendments beginning on <br />page 12 of the draft Ordinance. The Committee continued their review of the Ordinance and <br />made the following suggestions: <br />Sections 401.3 and 408. S. 4 — delete. <br />Section 503. 1.1 — End the sentence after two - family residences and delete the remainder <br />of the paragraph. The last two paragraphs are to remain in the proposed ordinance. <br />Sections 503.2.1; 503 -2.2; 503.2.3; 503.3; 503.4; and 505.1.1— delete. <br />Section 505.1.2 — first sentence — add the words An approved in front of key box. First <br />sentence — between the words each and occupancy, add the words "non residential property" <br />Sections 508.3.1; 508.5.1; 511; 704.1; 901.5; 901.6.1; and 901.7 — delete. <br />Section 902.1— delete. <br />Sections 903.1.2; 903.2; 903.2.8.3; 903.2.10.3; 903.2.10.4; 903.2.10.5; 903.3.1.1; <br />903.1.1.1.; 903.3.1.2; and 903.3.5 — delete. <br />Section 903.3.8 — The sentence "The door must be labeled as the riser room" shall be re- <br />worded to read as follows: If there is a riser room, it must be labeled as such. <br />Sections 903.4; 903.4.2; 903.62; 905.2; 905.3.8; 905.4(5); 905.4(7); 905.9; 9061; and <br />907.1.3 — delete. <br />3. Future agenda items. <br />Chairman Waldrum suggested that they meet on March 9th and March 23rd, beginning at <br />5:00 p.m. It was a consensus of the Committee to do so. <br />
